Challenge

The IET is one of the largest membership organisations in the world and exists to inspire, inform and influence the global engineering community to create a better world. However, the breadth of their proposition was not fully understood by existing audiences and they were out of touch with future generations. They wanted their brand to be more relevant, inclusive and distinctive and to work both externally and internally.

 

Solution

The IET is ‘working to engineer a better world’. This is reflected through the positive impact they create, represented by the ‘equals’ graphic in their logotype and in application. A vibrant colour palette adds dynamism and ensures the brand can appeal to different audiences in different ways. ‘Creating a world of better opportunities’ is the employer brand proposition. This captures the variety, collaboration and sustainability of working for the IET. It also chimes with the core brand proposition and the role employees have in delivering it. The equals graphic becomes a window to reveal the variety of different opportunities and combines with people photography and bold, optimistic questions that demonstrate the potential available.
