Challenge

Private investment firm Wellington Management manages over $1 trillion of assets. Outside of the US they are considered a traditional investment house and are less well-known for their more exotic strategies. They wanted institutional investors and intermediaries throughout UK, EMEA and Asia to have a better understanding of their track record and investment approach in Emerging Markets and Alternatives. We had to develop a digital-first campaign idea that captured these approaches, worked across funds, had global appeal and that pushed their global brand. They also wanted help launching their Italian office.

Solution

Wellington operate with contrasting yet complementary styles, like being big, global and structured but allowing their investment managers to operate as autonomous boutiques. These differences create a perfect combination for their clients to see what’s next in Emerging Markets, brought to life through a dynamic aperture that reveals opportunities, or to have the edge in Alternatives by looking at the extremes of situations throughout the world. Both campaigns work across digital and print applications, as distinct pages within their existing website and add freshness to the corporate brand. For the Italian launch, whilst the office is new, Wellington has served the market for many years. The idea of a new horizon with key landmark vistas demonstrates the past, the future and new opportunities.
